Why leaks are worth catching early
A leak doesn't just waste water. Every gallon you add brings fresh, unbalanced water, which means more chemicals, higher bills, and extra strain on your equipment. Finding and fixing a leak early saves money all season.
Common signs of a leak
- You're adding water more often than usual
- Soggy ground, puddles, or wet spots near the pool or equipment
- Water dripping or spraying at the pump, filter, or valves
- Cracks in the deck, tile line, or pool surface
- Air bubbles in the pump basket or returns
- Chemicals that won't stay balanced
Try the bucket test
Set a bucket on a pool step and fill it with pool water so the water inside matches the pool's level. Mark both levels and leave the pump running normally. After 24 hours, compare: if the pool dropped noticeably more than the bucket, you likely have a leak, because both lost the same amount to evaporation.
Let us find it
Many leaks are at the equipment pad, where a fitting, union, or seal can often be fixed in a single visit. We check for leaks during service and explain exactly what we find and what it takes to fix it.
